Benito is a brave baby. He loves everyone and he is very trusting of others. Benito really enjoys routine. His parents say that certain times of the day help him to communicate because he does not speak. Water relaxes Benito, and his parents say that he is a big fan of swimming and baths. He also likes soft, warm blankets. Benito’s parents say that although Benito has gone through so much and has struggled with a lot, he has always been a very loving, caring baby.
Benito was 10 months old when he was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay. He was 2 years old when he was diagnosed with Hypertonia, muscle disorder and seizures. Hypertonia is marked by an increase in muscle tension and a reduced ability of a muscle to stretch. Benito also recently had surgery on his eyes.
When Benito and his family needed an extra hand, The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation paid for his family to utilize the Respite Care Program.
