Our Programs
Patient and Family Assistance
The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation helps families with funding for critical items such as:
- wheelchair ramps
- van conversions
- durable medical or therapeutic medical equipment not covered by insurance
- emergency rent and utility assistance
Families may apply for assistance by working with a Social Worker at UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital. Assistance is awarded based on need, and the Social Worker will work with each family to determine eligibility. To schedule an appointment with a Social Worker at UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital, please call 505-272-5200.
Quality of Life Programs

The Foundation sponsors Quality of Life programming year-round and also provides scholarships for families that need financial assistance to access programs in the community.
The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation Beyond Limits Summer Wheelchair Sports Camp takes place in June each year, providing a two-week sports camp for youth, 7-18 years old, with physical disabilities who use manual or power wheelchairs or walking aides. The camp gives kids an opportunity to learn about competing in sports activities. Campers are instructed and mentored by young adults, trained athletes who use wheelchairs. Many are alumni of the program. Registration begins each year in April. Please call 505-243-6626 for details.
Interested in volunteering? Volunteers are the heart and soul of the camp. Our volunteers need to be at least 14 years old. There are big and small jobs that need to be accomplished. The online volunteer application opens in early April.
