Mudd Volleyball

Our signature fundraiser, the Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament, will take place on June 9, 2012. It's never to early to plan ahead. We count on hundreds of volunteers that day to make the event a success, and, because it's our largest fundraiser, volunteers are a critical part of helping us raise more than $500,000 to make a difference for the children we serve. To volunteer at Mudd Volleyball, you must be 16 or older, and there can be quite a bit of standing, lifting, and physical activity in the sun all day.

Volunteer at Mudd (answer all that interest you)

Mudd Captains' Meeting on Monday, June 4th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (some heavy lifting may be required):

Saturday, June 9th is MUDD -- Volunteers need to be on site by 7 a.m. Are you ready to get muddy for a great cause? We need volunteers to referee, to be runners, and, to help in our Information Tents. Training is provided, and, you don't have to know the rules of volleyball to help out.

Festival of Trees

November 30th through December 2nd, Sandia Resort will be hosting our 5th Annual Festival of Trees. We'd love your help making this winter wonderland a special treat for 10,000+ visitors. If you are under tha age of 14, this is an all-ages volunteer opportunity, although we ask that you sign up with a parent or adult. Click here to apply to volunteer as a family.

The winter holidays may be a long way off ... but we need hundreds of volunteers to make our Festival of Trees magical:

Interested in learning more about volunteering at Festival of Trees (Friday, November 30, Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2)?

  • From helping out at Santa's North Pole (photo area) and Elves' Workshop to handing out programs and informing folks about the Festival and the Foundation, we'll need lots of help.
  • We're asking for volunteers that can work at a 3-hour shift on one or more of those days. All ages and abilities are welcome. If you are under 14, please sign up with a parent or adult. Please let us know if you are interested and available during the weekend, and we'll be in touch to confirm your schedule availability. We will be offering a volunteer training for those who can attend in mid-November.

I've put Novemer 30th through December 2nd on my calendar -- please send me more information on how to volunteer at the Festival!

One-Time Projects / Office Help

Throughout the year, special one-time projects come up. If you are willing to help, please consider signing up, and, we'll send you opportunities throughout the year. These can range from helping out at small events that are organized to benefit the families we serve to short-term projects around the office as we thank sponsors.

Interested in being a part of our short-term projects volunteer pool?

Sign me up -- I understand that I will receive emails from time to time with upcoming one-time, short-term projects, and if my schedule is available, you can count on me!

Beyond Limits Summer Wheelchair Sports Camp

Every June, the Foundation's Beyond Limits Summer Wheelchair Sports Camp provides a unique program for 50+ children who learn over twenty adaptive sports and have the opportunity to compete with their peers. If you have an interest in a career in physical therapy or a sports background or if you are looking for a way to give back and be more involved, this might be the perfect volunteer program for you. To volunteer to work directly with the kids, there is a separate volunteer application, a required background check, and a mandatory orientation. You must be 14 or older, and, because of the training involved, we ask for volunteers that can commit to at least 2 full days during the two-week camp. We are now accepting applications for Wheelchair Sports Camp 2012. It's a separate application that you can complete online.. If you are interested, please indicate below or simply click here to start the online application for Sports Camp.

Interested in learning more about volunteering at Sports Camp?

Please add me to the list - I understand that there is a separate application process, including a background check and mandatory training, and I will apply next spring for the program.

If you are interested in volunteering at Carrie Tingley Hospital, please note: the Foundation does not place volunteers directly at the Hospital. To apply, you need to complete a separate application process through the University of New Mexico Hospital system. Call 505-272-2356 for an application and to learn more about their volunteer openings, any required trainings and more details at the hospital.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation! Click the submit button below, and, you'll receive an email or phone call (generally, within a week) about next steps.
