CAMP ADVENTURE IS BACK!

Camp Adventure is back, in person, for the summer of 2022. These adaptive camps are for children 6 to 19-years-old living with permanent disabilities. Camp Adventure allows children and teens the opportunity to unleash their possibilities!

During camp, campers enjoy sports, art, music, and games. Most importantly, they have fun and create lasting friendships and memories. Camp is staffed by qualified instructors and volunteers who provide instruction, encouragement, and support.

This year, we’ll be holding SIX camps around the state.

Dates and Locations Include: 

  • Albuquerque – June 13-17  - Camp registration is closed.  To be added to Wait List contact Helen at hpino@cthf.net.
  • Gallup – June 21-23 at Gallup Middle School
  • Roswell – June 27-28 – Roswell High School
  • Las Cruces – June 29- July 1 - Centennial High School
  • Farmington – July 11 – 13 - Site not yet determined
  • Las Vegas - July 18- 20 - West Las Vegas High School

MAy VIRTUAL CAMP INFO

Virtual Camps allow campers to enjoy and take part in all the fun and interactive programing from the safety of their homes. Each camper that registers will receive a Camp-in-a-Sac, filled with materials and supplies for the whole family to participate!

Registration for our 'Bring on the Sunshine' virtual camp on May 21st is open!

Camp will feature arts and crafts projects, movement, fun, and much more!

Space is limited, and registration closes on May 10th, so make sure to register today.

GET INVOLVED!

The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation is looking for youth volunteers, ages 16 and over to assist with our Camp Adventure summer camps! Volunteers can work at one or more of the camps listed above, camp activities will include wheelchair sports, archery, remote control cars, arts & crafts, adaptive cycling, and much more!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Our camps are designed for children 6 to 19 years old with permanent physical disabilities and their siblings. Disabilities we accommodate include: cerebral palsy, spina bifida, amputation, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, etc. In order to keep our campers safe and provide them with the best environment to participate in adaptive sports, this camp will most benefit campers that can comprehend basic rules and safety aspects of sports and follow instructions.

WHAT ADAPTIVE SPORTS WILL BE OFFERED?

Sports vary by location and can include: wheelchair basketball, cycling, archery, rock wall climbing, dancing, arts, kayaking, swimming, golfing, and a variety of games and activities.

NURSING STATION

A qualified nurse is available daily for children requiring special medical attention.

WHO WILL BE ASSISTING MY CHILD?

Our camp staff has years of experience working with children with physical disabilities. Each child will be paired with a volunteer that best suits their needs. Camp volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. All staff and volunteers must pass a background check in order to participate.
